STUDENT SHOWCASE: Sarah Klein
Violinist
North Medford High School
I began violin when I was 6 years old. I am member of the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon, the North Medford High School Chamber Orchestra, Siskiyou Violins, and the Rogue Valley Symphony. I won the 2014 YSSO Concerto Competition, and placed 1st in the 2014 OSAA District 8 Solo and Ensemble Festival. I have been selected to play with the OMEA All-State Orchestra in 9th, 10th, and 11th grades, and was accepted to the National Association for Music Education All-Northwest Orchestra this year. I operate a small private violin studio in Medford. Playing violin has taught me that achieving high quality requires diligence and perpetual astuteness. I plan to pursue a degree in English with a minor in music.
