STUDENT SHOWCASE: Thomas Green
Season 12, Episode 5
Thomas Green is a double bassist in Medford,Oregon currently attending South Medford High School as a sophomore (2018 - 2019). Thomas began playing the double bass as a 7th grader at Hedrick Middle school under the direction of Lynn Gervais and with the help and encouragement from David Miller. Thomas has then gone on to play in the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon, North Medford Chamber Orchestra, South Medford Chamber Orchestra, National Youth Orchestra 2 (NYO2), and is a current member of the Rogue Valley Symphony. In 2017-2018, Thomas won state championship in double bass solo. He is also involved in South Medford High Schools Chamber and E! choir under the direction of Andrea Brock and Pam Nordquist. His future goal is to become a professional musician and travel the world playing music. He would like to apply and audition to attend The Curtis Institute of Music, The Juilliard School of Music, Manhattan School of music, and more. He would like to say thank you to his mother, Priscilla Zambrano, and father, John Anderson, for all the love and support they give.
Thomas is especially grateful for the fabulous Zoryn Thompson who always helps him progress as a musician but more importantly, has helped him grow as a person.
